The defiant stand triumphant in the midst of revolution
While the cattle die in battle for American pollution
Now trustees are on their knees, they despise it, but they're staying
This whole thing could've been avoided if you heard what I was saying
But you don't wanna listen, naw man, you don't wanna look
You'd rather watch your favorite TV show or read your favorite book
And hey man, that's all fine, but we got problems right outside
And they won't go away if you just sit and ostracize
So how 'bout you get off your ass and educate yourself
Not wait, hate, then procrastinate til you's a number on a shelf
Cuz I will omit nothing and I refuse to candy coat
I'll not only rock left and right, I'll sink this fucking boat
If it'll make you move and shake
If you're forced to un-vegitate
If I can say my poem today
And if you're moved, that's fucking great
But being moved means nothing if you don't go move something else
Again, I will not candy coat, and your soul will not be felt
Cuz you are gonna die one day, bottom line, it's true
But your children and your grandkids?  Their lives are gonna follow through
And I don't wanna be thought of as daddy with a check
I wanna be the guy they talk of who earned everyone's respect
And watching TV all day isn't gonna make that true
So here I stand, reciting words, hoping to impress you
Cuz I think that I'm talented but I've got a ways to go
To hang with all my heroes and prove that I am gold
But I guess I got off topic, now back to the task at hand
I'm what you call a patriot - my home is of this land
So yeah, I guess I get pissed off when you ignore the truth
And tell your kids that all is fine, then mindlessly salute
But everything is not fine and it's drifting through the air
And it's your duty living here...ah...you don't fucking care...
